Cruise and Parade Event Spot Saving Guidelines

Pan-O-Prog Seat/Spot Saving Guidelines for Holyoke Ave (207th–210th Streets related to Cruise and Grand Parade)

Context & Respect

While the city has an ordinance, it takes a community to ensure that these major events are enjoyable for all in attendance. Pan-O-Prog provides these guidelines to ensure a fair and clean environment for everyone, especially downtown businesses, and residents. Please collect your trash, candy wrappers, and recycling before leaving to keep the area clean for our neighbors.

Before You Arrive

Street Closure: Holyoke Ave is closed between 207th St and 210th St from 5:00 PM Thursday to 5:00 PM Sunday. No vehicles may drive or park on Holyoke during these times. All spot-saving items must be carried in from side streets; do not drive around barricades.

Setting Up Your Spot

Setup Time: You may prepare chairs, blankets, and other items to save spots any time after 7:00 AM but be reminded of the official time where spot saving begins is 9:00 AM on Friday and Saturday. Do not set up before 7:00 AM—city crews will be cleaning, and service partners will be working on the streets and sidewalks until then.

Unattended Items: Items placed and left “unattended” before 9:00 AM are subject to removal. You must remain with your items until 9:01 AM to prevent others from moving your items and taking your spot.

Where and How Much Space You Can Save

Spot Size:  A single individual may save no more than 10’ in length along the route. A walkway of 4’ must be maintained between the back edge of your spot and any business storefront.

Roadway Restrictions:  No spot saving is allowed on any roadways of Holyoke Ave or any cross streets between 207th St and 210th St; emergency access must be always maintained.

Saturday Setback: On Saturday, all chairs in the spot-saving area must be at least 2’ back from the curb edge to allow space for car show participants. Items placed at the curb will be moved to accommodate the 275 cars attending the show. – Spectators are allowed to “Move Up” to the curb after the Car Show ends at 3:30 PM.

Event-Day Viewing Notes

Sightlines for Saved Spots: If you are seated on the sidewalk, expect others to be in front of you on the street by the start of the event. Prior to the start of the Cruise/Parade, spectators may stand in the roadway to a point up to the posted chalk lines which are in a line equal to the curb “bump-outs” located throughout downtown Lakeville.

Post Event Removal Time:  All items must be removed by 11:59 p.m. on the night of each event. Items left overnight will be taken to City Hall for pickup until 8:00 AM Monday; after that, they will be considered abandoned and disposed of.

Control of Dogs (Leash Law)

Lakeville's leash law supports responsible pet ownership and allows others to feel safe from aggressive dogs while in public places. The leash law requires all dogs to be on a leash.

  • No person shall permit their dog, or a dog under their care, to be in a City park or on a City street, trail, or sidewalk unless controlled by a leash. When a pedestrian approaches within one hundred feet (100'), the dog must be immediately recalled and brought under close control.

  • Pan-O-Prog Outdoor gated event areas may or maynot allow for dogs or pets of any kind.  It is safe to assume that most "Gated/Fenced" areas Will Not allow for pet entry.

How will I know if an event is cancelled for weather?

Any last minute event changes or cancellations for weather will be posted on Facebook and a push notification will be sent on our NEW festival APP.
